Travel Ideas For Summer 2010

When the summer arrives it is natural to want to make the most of it. There is no better way to do that than to think about heading abroad for a few days to enjoy one of the many great destinations you will find in Europe. Not only are there some sensational places to discover, none of them are too far away either.

If you are stumped for ideas on where to go, it won't take you long to find somewhere ideal for you. One very popular destination for the whole family to enjoy is Disneyland Paris. This has plenty of rides and attractions to look forward to, and it doesn't take long to reach it from the UK either.

If you like the idea of visiting France there are some other great destinations to try here too. Take Nice for example. There is so much here to look forward to, not least the stunning views over the Med. What better way to relax than to sit back and take in everything that Nice has to offer?

There are four other great destinations you could consider in France as well. Lille is perfect for shopping and it isn't too deep into France either, so you can enjoy a quick trip to get there. Marseille is good for budding historians since it is the oldest French city there is, while Toulouse offers a wealth of museums and other sights to see as well. Closer to the French border with Germany you also have Strasbourg to try out, so you can see that France alone is packed with opportunities for a quick break this summer.

Don't forget the rest of Europe though. If Switzerland appeals to you, perhaps Zurich would be a good choice for a summer break? This is the biggest city Switzerland can offer, and with a superb view of the Alps it is hard to beat.

If Germany appeals to you more, Frankfurt can be a good option to go for. There are some stunning sights here including Romerberg and the Palm Garden among others. Another popular European destination for the summer is Amsterdam, with its many canals and water boat tours to look forward to.

There is no doubt that Paris will be just as popular this year as a European destination as it has been in the past. People love Paris for its romance, its sights and sounds and its proximity to the UK. It is also very easy to find cheap breaks to Paris that won't blow your budget. If money is an issue for you, this could be just what you are looking for.

So if you are still stuck for somewhere to escape to this summer, look to the continent for some amazing ideas.
